Was It You Who Gave on #GivingTuesday?

Tuesdays have a great potential. For example, #TacoTuesday is a great day. It can mean crunchy, soft, spicy or mild—with all the trimmings. (Extra cheese and guacamole, anyone?)  For the price of a taco, you can transform #TacoTuesday to #GivingTuesday to reshape a life and make a permanent impact—with all the trimmings of joy, peace and hope.

When you give to The Foundry Ministries on #GivingTuesday, you impact the lives of men like Jeff and help give them a fresh start.

It’s exciting to be part of a global movement like #GivingTuesday, which unites countries around the world by sharing our capacity to care for and empower one another, just like we do at The Foundry, everyday.

The Big Ideas Behind #GivingTuesday

#GivingTuesday connects social media and the generosity of people around the world to bring about real change in their communities, while encouraging donations of time, talents and resources to local issues. It also promotes unity of nonprofits, civic organizations, businesses and corporations, as well as families and individuals, magnifying small acts of kindness.

What Is #GivingTuesday?

#GivingTuesday is a movement created in 2012 by a diverse team at the Belfer Center for Innovation & Social Impact at the 92nd Street Y—a cultural center in New York City. The 92nd Street Y has been bringing people together through serving and giving back since 1874. The varied communities, organizations and individuals are committed to one common purpose: to celebrate and encourage giving. Collaborating with a team of influencers and founding partners, their expertise and tireless efforts allowed them to launch #GivingTuesday. These collaborators have continued to shape, grow and strengthen the movement.
